Client: Cora Roth, Artist, Los Angeles, CA
Refreshed website design envisioned as digital art gallery, ongoing maintenance and addition of new works, improved visibility for humans and search engines.
A redesign of the website of acclaimed abstract artist Cora Roth (no relation, by the way) to improve the appearance, add new works, and plan improved conversion and SEO. It was also my first time working on the SquareSpace; as the site was already there I agreed to work on that platform.
To create more of a digital art gallery space I was envisioned what it is like to walk into a brick and mortar art gallery and added. To do so, I added:
- More white space and breathing room to put the paintings front and center
- More focus on the renowned artist and her own words
- Identifiable thumbnails on the homepage
- Outbound links to interviews and exhibitions
- A new call-to-action in the footer to bring attention to the fact that the paintings are available for purchase
Going forward, paintings will be added as they are created, as well as more content with significant keywords and alt text in images for better SEO.
